It is a puja held to celebrate the birth of Buddha, known as the Flower Festival.

April 8 is the day of the Flower Festival, which celebrates the birth of Lord Buddha.
About 2,500 years ago, Lord Buddha was born in a flower garden in Lumbini, Nepal, near the present-day border of India. This is why the celebration of his birthday is called the “Flower Festival.

Born as a prince of the Shaka tribe, he was named Gautama Siddhartha. He is commonly called “Osyaka-sama” or “Syakuson,” which is a title that means “the noble one of the Shaka tribe.

Legend has it that as soon as he was born, he took seven steps forward, pointed to the heavens with his right hand and to the earth with his left, and proclaimed, “Heaven is above, heaven is below, and I am one with God. These words clearly express the spirit of respect for human beings that Buddhism has, which is that “everyone is living an irreplaceable life. It is also said that the Dragon King, who celebrated the Buddha’s birth on this occasion, sent down a rain of nectar.

The “Hanamido,” which represents the scene of the birth in Lumbini Garden, is decorated, and in the center of the Hanamido is enshrined the image of the Buddha’s birth pointing to heaven and earth, and sweet tea is poured over the image of the rain of sweet dew to celebrate in a spectacular manner.
